Atlas

Joining ₹5,000 · Annual ₹5,000 · No spend-based waiver. Axis's own Key Fact Sheet (updated 17 Jul 2026) shows a blank Annual Fee Waiver cell for Atlas, while Magnus/Select/Reserve carry thresholds. ₹5,000 + 18% GST = ₹5,900 payable every year. The only offset is the tier-linked renewal miles (Gold 2,500 / Platinum 5,000), which are paid for paying the fee, not for spending.

Fee break-even: ≈₹1,66,667/yr through this card at its base rate. Below that, the fee eats the rewards.

Earns EDGE Miles · assumed 1.5 ₹/point. Axis's own Atlas T&C fixes 1 EDGE Mile = ₹1 when redeemed for flights/hotels on the Travel EDGE portal. That is the guaranteed, skill-free floor (2% base / 5% travel). ₹1.50 assumes the reason people hold Atlas: transfer at 1 EDGE Mile : 2 partner points, still the live ratio for 17 of 24 partners as of 10 Aug 2026 (Singapore KrisFlyer, United MileagePlus, Turkish, Etihad Guest, Flying Blue, Air India Maharaja, Aeroplan, JAL, Qantas, Royal Orchid Plus, Ethiopian, AirAsia, SpiceJet, ITC, IHG One Rewards, Wyndham, Postcard Sunshine Club), valuing partner miles conservatively at ~₹0.75 each. Three caveats. (1) Hard cap of 1,50,000 EDGE Miles transferred per calendar year (max 30,000 to Group A, 1,20,000 to Group B), so a heavy spender's marginal miles revert to the ₹1 portal floor. (2) AVOID the Avios family. British Airways Club, Finnair Plus and Qatar Privilege Club, plus IndiGo BluChip and Vietnam LotusMiles, are 2 EDGE Miles : 1 partner point, worth well under ₹0.50 per EDGE Mile. Orchid Rewards and Radisson Rewards are 1:1. (3) Miles cannot be encashed, and Axis may forfeit unredeemed miles 30 days after card closure or after the minimum amount due has been outstanding more than 90 days.

EMI₹299 plus GST below ₹50,000, ₹599 plus GST at ₹50,000 and above processing fee · A converted purchase stops earning rewards · The fee is charged on every conversion and is not refunded if you cancel or pre close, so on a no cost EMI deal it is the one thing you genuinely pay. Tenures run 3 to 24 months. · Converting a transaction to EMI claws back the EDGE Miles earned on it, and the miles are not restored if the EMI is later cancelled.
Fuel surcharge1% surcharge waived on fuel transactions of ₹400 to ₹4,000, capped at ₹400 per statement cycle (stated on Axis's own Atlas product page. Note the MITC's card-by-card fuel-waiver list does not name Atlas, an Axis internal inconsistency). GST on the surcharge is not refunded. Fuel earns zero EDGE Miles and a 1% Axis fuel transaction fee kicks in above ₹50,000 of fuel spend per cycle, so fuel is a poor use of this card despite the waiver.
Domestic lounge18 a year. Tier-based, per anniversary year: Silver 8, Gold 12, Platinum 18. Counts INCLUDE guest visits. Axis's example is that a Silver holder's 8 visits can be 6 primary + 2 guests, or all 8 primary. Atlas is one of only six Axis cards explicitly EXEMPT from the ₹50,000-in-previous-3-calendar-months domestic lounge spend gate (Axis Domestic Airport Lounge Access Program §2 names Burgundy Private, Reserve, Olympus, Primus, Horizon and Atlas). Access is by swiping the card at the lounge with a ₹2 Visa validation transaction. Atlas uses the Set B lounge list (~20 lounges). Tier is evaluated at the start of each anniversary year on the previous year's spend, and downgrades if the threshold is missed.
International lounge12 a year. Tier-based, per anniversary year: Silver 4, Gold 6, Platinum 12. Guests count within the same allowance. Axis's own international lounge programme, not Priority Pass (no Priority Pass enrolment appears anywhere in the Atlas T&C). The Atlas features T&C notes the digital booking journey is under maintenance and instructs cardholders to swipe the card at the lounge instead.

Travel (general)7.5%₹2,00,000 of travel spend per calendar month. Spend above that in the same month drops to 2 EDGE Miles per ₹100 · 5 EDGE Miles per ₹100 on the Axis Travel EDGE portal, DIRECT airline spends (airline-owned websites, airline counters, airline helplines) and DIRECT hotel spends (hotel-owned websites, hotel counters), identified by MCC. Bookings via travel agents, corporate travel agents or OTAs earn only the base 2 EDGE Miles per ₹100. This is stated explicitly in the Atlas features T&C. The ₹2 lakh monthly cap is confirmed by Axis's own 20 Apr 2024 revision PDF and the features T&C, and is per calendar month, not per statement cycle.

Also worth knowing

  • STATUS: CLOSED TO NEW APPLICATIONS, existing cards appear to renew normally. Axis has published no announcement, banner or press release, but three primary-source signals line up: the Atlas product page is fully live yet contains no Apply CTA of any kind (the Horizon page does). Atlas is absent from Axis's own credit-card listing page at axis.bank.in/cards/credit-card while Magnus, Horizon and 15 others are listed. And CardMaven and CardInsider both report applications stopped. AGAINST non-renewal: Atlas is still listed with a ₹5,000 joining and ₹5,000 annual fee in Axis's RBI-mandated Key Fact Sheet updated 17 July 2026, is still an eligible card in the Travel EDGE / Miles Transfer programme, and still has its own live ratio column in Axis's transfer table. No effective date for the closure is confirmable from any primary source.
  • Welcome benefit (fee-payment-linked, not spend-linked): 2,500 EDGE Miles on completing one transaction within 37 days of card issuance, for paid cards sourced on or after 20 Apr 2024. Cards sourced 20 Dec 2022-19 Apr 2024 got 5,000 miles within 30 days. Cards sourced before 20 Dec 2022, 5,000 miles for 3 transactions within 60 days. Available only once per cardholder, and not again if the card is cancelled and reopened.
  • Renewal benefit (fee-payment-linked, tier-based, not spend-triggered): on successful payment of the ₹5,000 + GST annual fee. Silver nil, Gold 2,500 EDGE Miles, Platinum 5,000 EDGE Miles, credited within 30 days of the fee payment.
  • EDGE Miles forfeiture risk, effective 1 Oct 2025: Axis reserves the right to forfeit unredeemed EDGE Reward Points / EDGE Miles 30 days after credit card closure, or if the minimum amount due has been outstanding for more than 90 days. This matters acutely for Atlas holders given the card is closed to new applications. If Axis ever converts or closes these cards, miles must be redeemed inside a 30-day window.
  • Miles transfer mechanics: 1,50,000 EDGE Miles per customer ID per calendar year, of which max 30,000 to Group A partners and 1,20,000 to Group B. Minimum transfer 500 EDGE Miles. One loyalty ID per partner, with a 60-day lock before you can change it and 5 working days before transferring. Caps reset 1 January with no extension or notice. Holding Atlas alongside Olympus gives the higher single cap (7,50,000), not the sum.
  • IndiGo BluChip went live as a transfer partner on 18 June 2026 with a two-month introductory ratio of 1:2 for Atlas, expiring around 18 August 2026. After which it drops to 2:1. Any partner list written before mid-August 2026 misses this reset.
  • Dining: Axis Dining Delights with EazyDiner. Atlas falls in the 'Retail Cards' tier, 15% off up to ₹500, minimum order ₹2,500, once per card per calendar month. The 30%/₹1,000 tier is restricted to Magnus for Burgundy, Reserve, Olympus and Burgundy Private, and the 25%/₹800 tier is the Burgundy DEBIT card. CardInsider's '25% off up to ₹800, twice a month' for Atlas is wrong on both the tier and the frequency. Terms from Aug 2026 are unconfirmed.
  • From 28 Aug 2026, portfolio-wide: Dynamic Currency Conversion markup is 3.5%. A new late-payment slab of ₹1,300 applies to outstanding above ₹50,000. Payment appropriation is reordered so purchases are cleared before cash advances. Gift cards move into their own non-earning spend category. And Bridge Fees, Road Fees and Tolls stop earning rewards.
  • Portfolio-wide (all exclusive of GST, none capped): 1% on every rent transaction. 1% on education paid via third-party apps (direct payment on an institution's own website or POS is exempt). 1% once cumulative wallet loads reach ₹10,000 in a cycle. 1% once cumulative utilities reach ₹25,000 in a cycle. 1% once cumulative fuel reaches ₹50,000 in a cycle. 1% once cumulative online skill-based gaming reaches ₹10,000 in a cycle. Once a threshold is crossed the fee applies to the whole cumulative amount, not just the excess.
  • Minimum amount due formula: all instalments + all fees + interest/finance charges + taxes + any amount used over the credit limit + 2% of the remaining balance outstanding, subject to a ₹100 minimum, with any unpaid MAD from prior statements added on. A further ₹100 'Recurring Late Payment Fee' applies if MAD is missed for two consecutive cycles and repeats every cycle until MAD is cleared.
  • Axis identifies excluded spend by its own internal spend category rather than the 4-digit MCC. But merchants can now be reclassified without any MCC change, and cardholders can no longer audit the classification against a published MCC table for reward purposes. (MCCs are still published for the surcharge fees.)
  • Other charges: revolving interest 55.55% p.a. (3.75%/month). This is NOT the EMI rate. Cash withdrawal 2.5%, min ₹500, limit 30% of credit line. Over-limit 2.5%, min ₹500. Late payment up to ₹1,200 (₹1,300 above ₹50,000 outstanding from 28 Aug 2026). Interest-free grace period 20 to 50 days.
  • Eligibility: primary cardholder 18 to 70 years, add-on over 18. Net annual income ₹12 lakh (salaried) or ₹15 lakh (self-employed). Resident of India.

Other exclusions

  • Non-earning. Currently classed under Wallet. From 28 Aug 2026 Axis moves gift cards into their own 'Gift Card' spend category, still earning nothing.
  • Cash withdrawals earn no EDGE Miles. 2.5% fee (min ₹500) plus interest from the transaction date.
  • Converting a transaction to EMI claws back the EDGE Miles earned on it, and the miles are not restored if the EMI is later cancelled.
