Horizon

Joining ₹3,000 · Annual ₹3,000 · No spend-based waiver. Axis's MITC and Key Fact Sheet (17 Jul 2026) both show 'Nil' / blank for Horizon's annual fee waiver. ₹3,000 + 18% GST = ₹3,540. The ONLY route to zero: both the joining and the annual fee are Nil for customers with a Burgundy Savings Account opened on or after 1 July 2026, at Axis's sole discretion and only for as long as the Burgundy relationship is maintained. Widely-quoted '₹5 lakh spend waiver' claims are false.

Fee break-even: ≈₹1,50,000/yr through this card at its base rate. Below that, the fee eats the rewards.

Earns EDGE Miles · assumed 1 ₹/point. Axis's own T&C fixes 1 EDGE Mile = ₹1 when redeemed for flights, hotels and experiences on the Travel EDGE portal. For Horizon that floor is also, in practice, the best simple route: Horizon transfers at only 1 EDGE Mile : 1 partner point to the 19 mainstream partners (Singapore KrisFlyer, United MileagePlus, Turkish, Etihad Guest, Flying Blue, Air India Maharaja, Aeroplan, JAL, Qantas, Royal Orchid Plus, Ethiopian, AirAsia, SpiceJet, ITC, IHG One Rewards, Radisson Rewards, Orchid Rewards, Postcard Sunshine Club, Wyndham). Exactly half Atlas's 1:2. So transferring typically realises only ~₹0.5 to 0.9 per EDGE Mile and rarely beats redeeming on the portal. The Avios family is worse still: British Airways Club, Finnair Plus and Qatar Privilege Club, plus IndiGo BluChip and Vietnam LotusMiles, are 2 EDGE Miles : 1 partner point. Hence ₹1.00, i.e. 2% base and 5% on the accelerated category. Horizon's compensation is a much larger transfer allowance than Atlas: 5,00,000 EDGE Miles a year vs 1,50,000. Miles cannot be encashed and may be forfeited 30 days after card closure or after the minimum amount due has been outstanding more than 90 days.

GolfNone. The 8-page Horizon T&C enumerates benefits exhaustively and contains no golf benefit. Reviews listing complimentary golf appear to have copied a higher-tier Axis card.
EMI₹299 plus GST below ₹50,000, ₹599 plus GST at ₹50,000 and above processing fee · A converted purchase stops earning rewards · The fee is charged on every conversion and is not refunded if you cancel or pre close, so on a no cost EMI deal it is the one thing you genuinely pay. Tenures run 3 to 24 months. · Converting a transaction to EMI claws back the EDGE Miles earned on it, and the miles are not restored if the EMI is later cancelled.
Fuel surcharge1% surcharge waived on fuel transactions of ₹400 to ₹5,000, capped at ₹400 per statement cycle. Horizon is named explicitly in Axis's Key Fact Sheet, MITC and its own T&C. GST on the surcharge is not refunded. CardMaven's 'max ₹500 per month' is wrong. Fuel earns zero EDGE Miles and a separate 1% fuel transaction fee applies above ₹50,000 of fuel spend per cycle.
Domestic lounge32 a year. Depends on network: Visa Signature 8 per calendar quarter = 32 per year. Mastercard World 6 per calendar quarter = 24 per year. Horizon IS explicitly exempt from the ₹50,000-in-previous-3-calendar-months domestic lounge spend gate. Axis's Domestic Airport Lounge Access Program §2 names Burgundy Private, Reserve, Olympus, Primus, Horizon and Atlas as waived. So the widely-repeated 'no spend conditions' claim is CORRECT for this card. Access via a ₹2 (Visa) or ₹25 (Mastercard) validation swipe. Uses the Set B lounge list, except that Horizon is NOT eligible for the BLR Domestic Lounge at Bengaluru T1 and is routed to the 080 Domestic Lounge instead. Guests are paid entry at the lounge's own rates, and accompanying children pay the full guest fee.
International lounge8 a year. 2 per calendar quarter = 8 per year, identical on both networks. This is the Visa/Mastercard network lounge programme, accessed with a USD 1 validation transaction on the card that is reversed on successful authorisation. NOT Priority Pass. There is no Priority Pass enrolment or membership number anywhere in the Horizon T&C. CardMaven and several other reviews claiming '2 visits per quarter via Priority Pass' are wrong. Axis reserves Priority Pass for Select/Reserve/Magnus/Burgundy Private. Guest charges for international lounges are not published by Axis (a 'USD 35 per visit' figure circulates only on low-authority sites and is not used here).

UPI spending0%Not possible. Horizon is issued only on Visa Signature and Mastercard World. Axis has no RuPay Horizon variant or companion, confirmed across the Horizon T&C (which specifies only Visa/Mastercard validation swipes and MCCs), the Axis Domestic Lounge Program PDF and CardInsider. In India only RuPay credit cards can be linked to UPI, so Horizon cannot be used for credit-on-UPI at all.

Fuel0%No EDGE Miles. Separately attracts a 1% Axis fuel transaction fee once cumulative fuel spend reaches ₹50,000 in a statement cycle (which can coexist with the surcharge waiver on individual transactions).

Flights5%None. The Horizon T&C sets no monthly, statement-cycle or annual cap on the accelerated rate. A genuine advantage over Atlas, which caps 5x at ₹2 lakh of travel spend per calendar month. · 5 EDGE Miles per ₹100 on the Axis Bank Travel EDGE website and on DIRECT airline spends only. Airline-owned websites, airline counters and airline helpline numbers, identified by MCC. IMPORTANT: hotels booked direct do NOT get the accelerated rate on Horizon (they earn the base 2), unlike Atlas where direct hotels do. Travel agents, corporate travel agents and OTAs are explicitly demoted to the base 2 EDGE Miles per ₹100. Axis's own worked example shows a ₹1,000 OTA purchase earning 20 miles.

Also worth knowing

  • Positioning: Horizon is the Citi PremierMiles successor, and this is documented in Axis's own Citi-migration FAQ. 'As a Citi PremierMiles Card holder, you will be offered the Axis Bank HORIZON Credit Card upon completion of the migration', at a conversion of 1 Citi Mile = 0.45 EDGE Miles. With Atlas closed to new applications, Horizon is now the only openly available airline-agnostic Axis miles card, and it is not migration-only: it is on Axis's live card listing page with a working Apply flow and appears as an active product in the current MITC and Key Fact Sheet.
  • Welcome benefit (fee-payment-linked, not spend-linked): 5,000 EDGE Miles. But only if the FIRST transaction on the card is ₹1,000 or more and made within 30 days of issuance. A later qualifying transaction does not rescue eligibility if the first one was under ₹1,000. Paid cards only, so a Burgundy fee-waived card may well not qualify (Axis does not spell this out, treat as an inference). Not available to customers migrated onto Horizon before 31 Jul 2024.
  • Renewal benefit (anniversary/fee-linked, not spend-triggered): 1,500 EDGE Miles on each card anniversary from the second anniversary year onwards, credited within 30 days, primary cardmember only.
  • Burgundy fee waiver: both joining and annual fee are Nil for customers with a Burgundy SAVINGS Account opened on or after 1 July 2026 (the parallel Magnus waiver is tied to a Burgundy SALARY Account, the two cards are not on the same trigger, and most coverage blurs this). It is an ongoing annual waiver, not a one-time joining waiver, but conditional: 'at the sole discretion of Axis Bank. Continuation of benefits is subject to the customer maintaining the requisite Burgundy relationship.' NEW onboardings only. Existing Burgundy customers are excluded by the 'opened on or after' wording. Burgundy induction needs an initial funding cheque of ₹5 lakh+, then any one of: ₹10 lakh AMB in savings. ₹10 lakh AMB across savings + current. ₹30 lakh Total Relationship Value. ₹1 crore TRV including Demat. Net salary credit above ₹3 lakh/month into an Axis salary account. Or ₹40 lakh foreign inward remittance over 12 months (NRIs). Family Banking allows up to 5 members to pool. No end date is stated in any Axis document.
  • NO spend-based milestone benefits at any threshold, and no tier ladder. This is Horizon's main structural gap versus Atlas, which pays 10,000 EDGE Miles across ₹3L/₹7.5L/₹15L and scales lounge access by tier.
  • Miles transfer mechanics: 5,00,000 EDGE Miles per customer ID per calendar year, of which max 1,00,000 to Group A partners and 4,00,000 to Group B. More than three times Atlas's allowance, which partly offsets the weaker 1:1 ratio. Minimum transfer 500 EDGE Miles. One loyalty ID per partner, 60-day lock before changing it, 5 working days before transferring. Caps reset 1 January without notice.
  • IndiGo BluChip went live as a transfer partner on 18 June 2026 with a two-month introductory ratio of 1:1 for Horizon, expiring around 18 August 2026. After which it drops to 2:1.
  • Insurance: lost-card liability cover up to ₹10 lakh (New India Assurance). Requires a police complaint/FIR, covers fraud from 2 days before the card is blocked, and excludes PIN-authenticated lost/stolen transactions. There is NO travel insurance and NO air accident cover in the Horizon T&C. Reviews listing those, plus airport transfers, BookMyShow tickets or complimentary EazyDiner Prime, appear to have lifted a benefit list from a higher-tier Axis card.
  • Dining: Axis Dining Delights with EazyDiner, confirmed in Axis's own Citi-migration FAQ as a Horizon benefit. Horizon sits in the 'Retail Cards' tier, 15% off up to ₹500, minimum order ₹2,500, once per card per calendar month. The 25%/₹800 tier belongs to the Burgundy DEBIT card and the 30%/₹1,000 tier to Magnus for Burgundy / Reserve / Olympus / Burgundy Private. Terms from Aug 2026 are unconfirmed.
  • EDGE Miles forfeiture, effective 1 Oct 2025: Axis may forfeit unredeemed EDGE Reward Points / EDGE Miles 30 days after credit card closure, or if the minimum amount due has been outstanding for more than 90 days.
  • From 28 Aug 2026, portfolio-wide: Dynamic Currency Conversion markup is 3.5%. A new late-payment slab of ₹1,300 for outstanding above ₹50,000. Payment appropriation reordered so purchases clear before cash advances. Gift cards moved into their own non-earning spend category. And Bridge Fees, Road Fees and Tolls stop earning rewards (already effectively covered by Horizon's Transportation & Tolls exclusion).
  • Portfolio-wide (all exclusive of GST, none capped): 1% on every rent transaction (₹1,500 cap removed). 1% on education via third-party apps. 1% once wallet loads reach ₹10,000 in a cycle. 1% once utilities reach ₹25,000 in a cycle. 1% once fuel reaches ₹50,000 in a cycle. 1% once online skill-based gaming reaches ₹10,000 in a cycle. Once a threshold is crossed the fee applies to the entire cumulative amount.
  • Minimum amount due formula: all instalments + all fees + interest/finance charges + taxes + any over-limit amount + 2% of the remaining balance outstanding, minimum ₹100, with unpaid prior MAD added on. A further ₹100 'Recurring Late Payment Fee' if MAD is missed for two consecutive cycles, repeating every cycle until cleared.
  • Axis identifies excluded spend by its own internal spend category rather than the 4-digit MCC. Axis states the excluded list itself did not change, but merchants can now be reclassified without an MCC change and cardholders cannot audit the reward classification.
  • Other charges: revolving interest 55.55% p.a. (3.75%/month). NOT the EMI rate. Cash withdrawal 2.5%, min ₹500, limit 30% of credit line. Over-limit 2.5%, min ₹500. Late payment up to ₹1,200. Interest-free grace period 20 to 50 days. Annual fee is billed on the first statement after the card anniversary year completes.

Other exclusions

  • Non-earning. Currently classed under Wallet. From 28 Aug 2026 Axis moves gift cards into their own 'Gift Card' spend category, still earning nothing.
  • Cash withdrawals earn no EDGE Miles. 2.5% fee (min ₹500) plus interest from the transaction date.
  • Converting a transaction to EMI claws back the EDGE Miles earned on it, and the miles are not restored if the EMI is later cancelled.
