Tata Neu Infinity SBI Card

Joining ₹1,499 · Annual ₹1,499 · Renewal fee reversed on ₹3,00,000 of eligible spends in the 365 days before the annual fee billing date

Fee break-even: ≈₹99,933/yr through this card at its base rate. Below that, the fee eats the rewards.

Earns NeuCoins · assumed 1 ₹/point. 1 NeuCoin = 1 Reward Point = ₹1, stated in SBI's own T&C. Closed loop, and that is the catch: NeuCoins are auto-transferred to your NeuPass account within 7 working days of the statement cycle and can then only be spent inside the Tata ecosystem. Via Tata Pay at checkout on Tata Neu, Air India Express, BigBasket, Croma and IHCL hotels. Via the NeuCoins option on Tata CLiQ and Tata 1mg (Titan/Tanishq only through Tata Neu). Or at Croma, IHCL and Westside tills. No cash, no statement credit, no redemption fee. NeuCoins are rounded DOWN per transaction, so fractions are lost. Since 1 Aug 2025 NeuCoins expire 12 months from the end of the month of credit, so the ₹1 only holds if you actually shop Tata within the year.

EMINil on 3 months, then ₹45 at 6, ₹69 at 9, ₹89 at 12, ₹129 at 18 and ₹169 at 24 months, and only on purchases of ₹20,000 or more processing fee · A converted purchase stops earning rewards · The kindest fee structure here. There is nothing at all to pay on a 3 month plan, and the fee only bites once the purchase reaches ₹20,000. Minimum ₹2,500 to convert. Converting an already billed amount is a separate product costing 1% capped at ₹2,000. · Flexipay earns nothing, and NeuCoins already credited are reversed if that transaction is later converted to EMI
Fuel surcharge1% on transactions of ₹500 to ₹4,000, max ₹250 per statement cycle (community-reported. SBI's T&C booklet for this card does not state it). Fuel earns no NeuCoins either way, so this is the only fuel benefit.
Domestic lounge8 a year. 2 per quarter, but spend-gated: you need ₹75,000 of eligible spend in the PREVIOUS calendar quarter. The gate is waived for the month and quarter of card issuance, and a product upgrade or network change counts as fresh issuance. Eligibility only goes live from the 7th of the first month of each quarter. Primary cardholder only. Guests and add-on cardholders pay full lounge rates. SBI card fees, interest and reversed payments do not count as eligible spend.
International lounge4 a year. 1 per quarter outside India via Priority Pass, primary cardholder only, with no spend gate. Visits beyond the 4, and every guest visit, are charged US$27 + GST each.

Also worth knowing

  • Welcome benefit: 1,499 NeuCoins (= ₹1,499, the full joining fee back) credited within 15 days of the joining fee being realised.
  • HOW THE 10% ACTUALLY WORKS: 5% comes from the card on Tata Neu app/website AND on partner Tata brands charged directly. The extra 'up to 5%' is NeuPass tier value and only applies to select categories bought inside the Tata Neu app/website. So buying at a Croma store gets 5%, buying the same TV through Tata Neu can reach 10%. The tiering is governed by tataneu.com/about-neupass, not by SBI, and can change without SBI notice.
  • VS THE HDFC TATA NEU INFINITY ALSO IN THIS CATALOG. Same ecosystem, same 1 NeuCoin = ₹1, same 12-month NeuCoin expiry, and both do 5% Tata / 1.5% elsewhere. The real differences: (1) SBI gates its 8 domestic lounge visits behind ₹75,000 of spend in the previous quarter, whereas HDFC's gate is ₹50,000 per quarter for fewer vouchers. Compare the two card entries directly. (2) SBI's forex markup is 1.99% vs HDFC's 2%. (3) SBI publishes an explicit 500 NeuCoin/month ceiling on UPI earning on its RuPay Select variant, and its Visa Signature variant cannot do UPI at all. (4) SBI's published cap list is per-category (grocery, insurance, utility, telecom at 2,000 NeuCoins each) rather than a single Tata-spend cap. Holding both is largely redundant. Pick on lounge gating and forex, not on earn rate.
  • SBI publishes NO monthly cap on Tata Neu app or partner-brand NeuCoins. The booklet's cap list simply omits them. Recorded as 'no monthly cap published' rather than inventing one, but an uncapped 5-10% is unusual enough that it may be an omission in SBI's document rather than a real feature.
  • Launched 16 Apr 2025 and issued as RuPay Select or Visa Signature. SBI also sells a cheaper Tata Neu Plus variant. Applications are accepted online and at SBI Card kiosks inside select Croma stores.
  • Accrual depends on Tata's partner MID list, refreshed monthly. SBI states outright that if a partner brand has not supplied its MIDs by the time you transact, NeuCoins do not accrue until those MIDs are approved. And there is no retrospective credit.
  • If you flip this card to a non-Tata SBI product, NeuCoins accrued since the last statement are forfeited. Redeem before any product change.

Other exclusions

  • Voucher and gift-card purchases (MCC 7349) earn nothing
  • Gaming (MCC 5816, 7993, 7994) earns nothing
  • Flexipay earns nothing, and NeuCoins already credited are reversed if that transaction is later converted to EMI
  • Cash advances, payments toward outstanding balances, and card fees/charges earn nothing
