5% on Amazon, uncapped, once you count Prime as the real cost
No card fee ever, but the 5% needs Prime, from ₹399 a year
Every other 5% card on this list caps out somewhere. This one does not cap the Amazon cashback at all, so over a year of real Amazon spending it beats a capped 5% comfortably. The honest framing is that the card is free and the rate is not: the 5% is a Prime benefit. The good news is that the cheapest Prime clears it, because Amazon ticks this cashback against Prime Shopping Edition at ₹399 a year just as it does against full Prime at ₹1,499.
Without Prime you get 3%, and at that point the card is genuinely free. So the ₹399 only buys you the extra 2%, which is worth it above roughly ₹20,000 of annual Amazon spend and not below it. It is Amazon only, everywhere else is 1%.
